The Whirlwind Holidays

This has been such a busy month, new in many ways for me, as I have not been the most social of people in the past. Besides the new stress of dealing with the Matriarch’s progressing illness, and shopping for the horde of nieces and nephews, there were the new distractions of balls, dances and the like. Images are not yet ready, as I have not had time to – edit - them properly.
I have attempted to make gifts for this year, and have some ideas for further builds. The table and chair set is not entirely right. It may have simply been AO interference, though I must do more testing. I also need to construct some chairs, as the ones I used for the primary build are no transfer, and therefore render the current set invalid for gifting. After the hasty set-up of the dances at Cape Wrath, I began to consider the construction of a pocket ballroom. I must see about getting the Greek and Turkish dances properly calibrated, as well.
Part of my schedule has been eaten up with simple gawking, as Harborside rose from the depths in the Linden’s back garden, and several of us just had to walk it ourselves. I think Sherriff Ortega was one of the first on the island, which bodes well for the first footing. We shall have to have him repeat the action on New Year’s just to be sure.
Augustus has been out and about, and I breathed a little easier, as I did not receive the expected angry messages from parents/police/farmers. However, it seems his actions in Steelhead did attract the Baron’s attention. Sweet lightning, does the man breathe trouble? You would think, as old as he is, Augustus would have learned by now. I begin to rethink the wisdom of giving him sole residence at the house-to-be in Harborside.
Tonight, I must work on the ensemble for Friday Night at Steelhead. As my schedule gets more crowded, I find I have less time to spend there, which saddens me. I will have to wrench at least one Friday per month in Steelhead free for myself, as I can. I am not following the theme exactly, but there is a time machine involved. It is a costume in four phases, but Helen is only half of the story. Hmm… I wonder - does Herr Maximus have a flannel shirt?
