Study habits
Sep. 14th, 2007 11:32 amI begin to understand the Baron's fascination with the local gentry, having witnessed the occasion of what was termed the "off-sim mountain" off the coast of Primverness. The zeal with which the Caledonians pursued their studies of the rock formation was - very familiar. I have left my rough notes on the Baron's desk, and shall have to see about setting up a proper report tonight.
I have scheduled an office hour this evening, and barring problems with editing the report or another emergency, will likely be reading the books I picked up from the library. Most are general references, and not specific to Caledon, but it is clear from my first reading that these are the basis for the local customs.
True, they are not that far removed from the customs at home, but the forms of address are different, and one cannot gain the insight of the nuances from a book. Unless I find an École de Jardinière for local instruction, I must stumble through and hope that I do not embarrass the… Consulate.
